Extreme Fatigue: How You Can Overcome Being So Tired

For many people today the life they expect to live has been snuffed out because they suffer from extreme fatigue. Exhaustion rules the day. They can’t expect much help from their doctors since medicine cannot define the causes and, therefore, no treatments are available.

In fact, most often, people are prescribed depression drugs since this is an associated symptom of the condition. But, depression is not the cause and is only an outcome of the overbearing issue of extreme fatigue.

Doctors cannot find a neat, single cause for fatigue and many ideas have been presented but there is no consensus. The following is a list of some possible causes:

* adrenal gland exhaustion

* a breakdown in the neuroendocrine system

* a breakdown in the neuroendocrine system

* post-viral illness

* free radical damage

* adrenal gland exhaustion

The Causes of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Have Not Been Identified

Even though there are no effective therapies, some clinicians do what they can hoping to help the individual improve his function and return to health.

In all of our cells there are very small power-houses called mitochondria that produce all the energy we need to live. They process the products of food breakdown and combine them with oxygen to produce energy. Some research now implicates mitochondrial dysfunction in fatigue through a process called oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress leads to a breakdown in food and oxygen processing. A potential cause may be drugs of any kind including those that are prescribed. The chemicals interfere with specific steps along the processing path by poisoning it.

Mitochondrial function is susceptible to toxic exposure and prescribed drugs do have toxic side-effects. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are examples of drugs that disrupt mitochondrial function. Other drugs can lead to the production of free radicals which penetrate and break down the membranes that make up the cell and mitochondrial walls. In this example, there are now disturbances in the flow of ions in and out of these structures.

Potassium and sodium are minerals and are known as ions since their movements create an electrical charge. Electrical charges are the fundamental functional part of living beings. The mitochondria are the target of many cancer drugs. Extreme fatigue in cancer patients arises because of poisoning of the mitochondria.

Novel Approaches in the Battle to Stave Off Extreme Fatigue

Although medicine has been trying to understand what causes chronic fatigue, its quest has failed to turn anything up. In addition, since there are no known causes, there are no known or effective treatments for fatigue and its more serious forms, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.

Modern Medicine is not the only health model that exists even though it seems to think it is. There are numerous other ways of looking at the issue of fatigue therapies by looking at the views of other schools of thought:

* the use of other products from the world of energy medicine

* an evaluation of prescription drug use to reduce toxic exposure

* nutritional supplements

* advanced detoxification programs (homeopathic remedies are best for this)

* exercise, particularly tai chi

* advanced acupuncture programs such as electro-meridian imaging rather than classical acupuncture

* the low-carbohydrate diet to reduce inflammation

* nutritional supplements

* overview of our exposure to environmental pollutants

Toxin exposure is a current problem. To assess the level of toxin accumulation in people’s bodies, the Centers for Disease Control planned and carried out the Body Burden Study to test for more than 200 toxic compounds in humans. More than 98% of the subjects tested for significant levels of toxins.

The CDC did not speak to the potential damage and the results did not appear on the nightly news. Many open-minded practitioners outside of medicine rely on methods of healing whose prime focus is to reduce the body burden of environmental pollutants.

We are all exposed every day to a large number of environmental pollutants which are wreaking our health. Unfortunately, few people know anything about this and fewer yet know what to do to combat it. Modern medicine doesn’t recognize this problem and only a few people working in alternative medicine understand and accept the concept of “pollution poisoning” as a cause of extreme fatigue.

Your plan of action will be determined by how severe you case of type II diabetes is. Although there is no set cure, you can hold steadfast to the belief that control is within your grasp.

The 1st step is to eat a diet that is balanced and keeps your sugar levels under control. This is the number one thing you have to do is monitor your blood sugar levels. There are many tests that can take your blood sugar levels so you can adjust what you eat accordingly.

An average diet for a diabetic hoping to succeed in controlling type II diabetes is one that is full of fruits and vegetables and lean proteins. Additionally this type of diet will be full of complex carbohydrates like whole grains while avoiding simple carbohydrates like processed white flour and sugar. If you are fueling your body with foods like this then you will not only be sure that you are giving your body the fuel that it needs to operate effectively.

Exercise is also very important. Your blood sugar levels are easier to manage if you are at a proper weight for your age and height.

Type 2 diabetes can be more severe in specific cases. In addition to diet and exercise your doctor will prescribe medication to help maintain your health.

In the US there are more and more cases of diabetes being diagnosed. Millions of individuals suffer from diabetes and it is something that needs to be dealt with. If you have the proper amount of exercise and eat healthier it is a good step in beating diabetes.
